The framework for each fold and stack was developed from a simple origami mask consisting of triangles and resultant hexagons. Each layer presented a unique form through variations in scoring, slicing, or fully removing triangles within the mask.
This exercise helped to recognize the limits of spanning and the apparent lines of structure required to ensure strength as it rose. However it also stressed the importance of maintaining continuity and consistency in formal language from floor to floor, seamlessly blending one layer into the next. The project thus read as one entity rather than just three layers stacked together.
