LIGHTBOX is a 10 sqm private sauna designed for a cottage island in Lake Nipissing, Ontario. As the name suggests, the design focussed not only on how the sauna will be used during the day, but also how it will appear at night. The project combines materials that can be found on the island, with a keen focus on structure. Similarly, the sauna faces the water to capitalize on uninterrupted views of the lake, and the deck bends to provide access to the water and ensures that at any time in the year, the user can enjoy the sunset.
